KBHC-CP (Kris B Harmony Compliance Certification Program) 3.23.13
Skilled Nursing Facilities (LTPAC's) are required to have a compliance program effective March 23, 2013. Historically, facilities have struggled with the task of Compliance Program development and are notoriously missing the link to employee engagement and buy-in that are the basis for all Compliance Programs. Compliance can be expensive - more expensive if NOT attended to directly by organization leaders. The Harmony University LTPAC 3-Day KBH Compliance Certification Program (CKBH-CP) will provide you with the necessary skills to implement an effective and operational Compliance Program and Plan.
Medicare has redefined the definition of fraud under LTPAC compliance regulations. When a facility has not taken all the necessary steps to ensure that all of the technical and clinical qualifications are supported by your medical records to prevent improper billing, fines and penalties may be applied. A robust compliance program, with an active Compliance Officer, is the first objective to proactively monitor for all types of fraud and abuse while ensuring documentation of internal system oversight and response to findings. In this way, you can demonstrate that safeguards are in place to support accurate and appropriate reimbursement and that quality care is being provided.
This Harmony University LTPAC Compliance Certification program will focus on the 7 basic elements of an effective compliance program per the OIG and Federal Sentencing Guidelines with your interdisciplinary team. A step-by-step approach will be detailed during the program so that you will be able to develop a program that will not only meet the regulatory requirements of your LTPAC but provide valuable insight and help your facility achieve and maintain compliance.
Certification is obtained with a passing score on the online exam.
